According to the results, 8.6% of the adults in the UK had taken part in at least one form of online gambling during the last month, which is a significant rise from last year’s 7.4%.
Another interesting figure that can be learned from the study is that more and more people, at least in the UK, are starting to use laptops or handheld devices in order to visit their favorite online casino sites. The results reveal that 6.7% of the respondents opted to gamble that way, compared to only 5.2% last year. Mobile gambling is also gaining more popularity lately, although it still lags behind, with only 3% of the players choosing it as their preferred method.
Even though it is apparent that online casinos are becoming more popular and accessible, the study shows that the National Lottery remains the most popular form of online gambling, closely followed by online poker, which is starting to gain more and more fans in the online community. The future, as you can see, certainly looks bright for online casino companies and players alike.
